April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Posted April 6th, 2018 in news, recent by Irene Barton

Over the years, April has been used to raise awareness of the problem of child abuse. These days, we use April to focus instead on how we can prevent child abuse and neglect. And research shows that most Americans are engaged in prevention, they just don’t know it.

This April Prevent Child Abuse America is specifically highlighting three of those ways that you can make a difference in your local community and help prevent child abuse. They are encouraging everyone to mentor a child or parent, advocate for family friendly policies, or donate time or money to child-serving organizations.

We all play a role in creating the safe, stable and nurturing relationships and environments that are central to the great childhoods that all children deserve.
