Purpose/Objectives

The Cobb Community Collaborative Policy Council on Substance Abuse will bring together system providers from prevention, intervention, treatment, enforcement, recovery and advocacy to create an active network of collaborative dialogue and shape the future of a local coordinated substance abuse system of care. The overarching goal of the Council will be to ensure that in the future, Cobb County Substance Abuse System Services will be:

  • Coordinated and integrated
  • Accessible
  • Affordable
  • Age/culture/language appropriate
  • Transparent
  • Supported

The Council will be structured to support the following activities:

  • Interagency collaboration
  • Substance Abuse service system resource and financial mapping
  • Community needs assessment
  • Awareness information and outreach

Structure of Substance Abuse Policy Council

General Council meeting (meet 4 times a year)

  • Chair – approved by Council Members- will sit on the Collaborative Board of Directors
  • Secretary – approved by Council Members

Committees – volunteer chairs will set meeting schedule

  • Communication Committee
  • Resource Development
  • Advocacy
  • Outreach & Needs Assessment

Goals & Objectives

  • Each committee will establish goals & activities for approval
