T.R. – Man of Action

The first of TellTale Theatre’s “Living Lessons” series, a series of programs targeted to help children meet Board of Education performance standards. See American history and civics come alive through a classroom or assembly visit from Theodore Roosevelt. * Provides a unique way to cover Georgia Performance Standards units of Social Studies * Students will be enthralled with Teddy’s stories making the lessons more memorable. * Includes valuable character education lessons. T.R. incorporates lessons that directly correspond with all 5th (and 1st) grade performance standards units: * History * Economics * Geography * Civic Government 3rd-5th grade assemblies and high school shows are available. Individual units can be covered in classroom visits appropriate for 5th & 1st grades.

  • Program Time: Assemblies are 45 min. Classroom visits are in 25 min. increments. 15 min. in-class follow-ups to assembly programs are also available.
  • Target Age: Grades 3-5
  • Special Requirements: •A clean, open space for the performance which has recently been damp mopped. The space should be cleared of tables and chairs so that children may be seated on the floor, approximately four feet from the front edge of the stage with an aisle of three feet allowed down the middle and around the perimeter of the audience. •A stage area at least 16’W x 16’D and one standard 120 volt outlet. •If available, please provide a large free standing map of the U.S., one small wooden desk or table positioned stage left and one lectern or podium positioned stage right (older, less modern items are better. (If any of these items are not available, please notify the TellTale office in advance.)
