Fundraising Like a Pro

9am to 11 am (Workshop)

This presentation will cover individual giving, corporate giving and foundations. Understand how your organization can develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy. This interactive workshop will provide tools for your success in:

Developing a fundraising plan and setting fundraising goals
Understanding and finding donors
Putting together a fundraising plan
Understanding how this fundraising effects the organizations financial statements

Facilitated By:

Christina Paloski, CPA (Founder/President Accounting Solutions Group)

She is responsible for 15 client partnerships providing nonprofit consulting in accounting. These responsibilities include: policies and procedures, grants management, bookkeeping with financial statement presentation, financial check-ups, tax preparation, budget preparation, and best practice coaching. Other services include: information technology services such as hosting, implementing and training on QuickBooks, Peachtree, as well as Sage Fund Accounting and Sage Fundraising 50.

Christina has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the State University of New York at Geneseo, with an emphasis in Public Administration. She has over 12 years of accounting and auditing experience with for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Christina is a licensed CPA and a Sage Fund Accounting Certified Trainer. She is also the Regional Director for Capitol Non Profit Solutions, a local business partner with Sage Software. She is currently involved with the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, Georgia Center for Nonprofits and is a Board member of Cobb Community Collaborative.

All nonprofit organizations with 501c3 designation and serving Cobb County residents are invited to attend a meeting on February 23 from 9am-12pm or February 27 from 1pm-4pm.

for a presentation on the availability of funds from Cobb County Non-Profit Grant for Fiscal Year 2013/2014. An overview of the funding process including criteria for receiving a grant and instructions on completing the application will be given at this time. Attendance at this meeting is optional but highly encouraged. Applications will be available in electronic format on the Cobb Community Collaborative website after the scheduled RFP sessions: http://www.cobbcollaborative.org

The meetings will be held at The Mansour Center, 995 Roswell St., Marietta, Ga. 30060. Members of the Cobb Community Collaborative and Cobb County Finance Department will be present to answer questions regarding the application and review process.

Do you know any budding young videographers in Cobb County? Lights, Camera, Action!

Cobb Alcohol Taskforce and Cobb County School District’s Prevention Intervention Center are again co-sponsoring a Video PSA Competition for local students! Please help us spread the word – we want lots of great entries again this year!

Entry deadline is March 30, 2012 – contest rules and forms can be found on this flyer, which is also posted on our website hompage at www.cobbat.org

Thanks to Cobb County Commission on Children and Youth for making funds available for cash prizes! There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and viewers choice winners. This is a great way for youth organizations to raise funds while creatively sharing their voice and vision and helping us spread youth messages for preventing underage drinking.

Winning videos will be posted online and air on local TV stations during April for National Alcohol Awareness month. Winners will be regognized at public event in April, date TBA.

Please spread the word to get lots of youth to enter this contest! And check back to view and vote for your favorite entries during the week of April 1-13, 2012 – we will post a link so you can view and vote online then for your viewer’s choice.
