Community Event – Free Medication Disposal

October 24, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Medications flushed down the toilet may contaminate our lakes, streams and groundwater causing harm to humans, wildlife and vegetation. Medications thrown in the trash can cause poisoning by accidental ingestion by children, pets and wildlife. You can help by safely disposing of unused or expired medicine at our free Cobb Medication Take Back event.

Law enforcement and county staff will be at two locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, to collect medications and properly dispose of them in compliance with federal law.

  • Precinct One, 2380 Cobb Parkway NW, Kennesaw
  • C. Freeman Pool Senior Center, 4025 South Hurt Road NW, Smyrna

Medicines and labels do not have to be removed from containers. However, we will accept pills placed in sandwich/plastic bags. All pills must be removed from blister packs BEFORE dropping off.
