Cobb Collaborative Partner Training Opportunties

Cobb Collaborative Partner Training Opportunities

The VISION of the Cobb Collaborative is "Cobb County partners working together to create opportunities for all people to thrive." The following are training opportunities that we can help facilitate through trusted Collaborative partnerships and our information request link can be found directly below.

Mindful Self Compassion

Mindful Self Compassion

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) was developed by Christopher K. Germer, PhD, leader in the integration of mindfulness and psychotherapy, and Kristin Neff, PhD, pioneering researcher in the field of self-compassion. MSC combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion, providing a powerful tool for emotional resilience. MSC is open to ALL as everyone can benefit from an increase in self-compassion. Often parents and people working in caregiving professions find the practices of MSC particularly helpful.

QPR Training

QPR Training

In an effort to increase awareness of suicide and to increase the number of gatekeepers in our community, we encourage everyone to attend a QPR class. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Gatekeepers can include anyone who is strategically positioned to recognize and refer those at risk of suicide (e.g., parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, coaches, caseworkers, police officers).
