Marietta Square

When Marietta was laid out in 1833, Mayor John Glover did not like how the Courthouse looked in the center of the square so he moved it and donated the center land to the city. They could have the land as long as it remained a park. That park is now called Glover Park and Marietta Square has grown around it. With over 30 restaurants, the square has become a place for foodies and families to grab a bite to eat! If the family can’t agree on what to eat stop by the Marietta Square Market with around 20 restaurants making up a vendor hall. If you are looking for something educational, stop by the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, the Marietta Fire Museum, or the Marietta Museum of History. The Marietta Square Farmers Market is also hosted here all year on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Seasonal events are also hosted here year round so be sure to check the calendar!
