  • 10:00-11:00AM – GAVA – Let’s Talk Volunteering: This webinar will enhance understanding of global trends in volunteering by bringing together some key global research that has been published in 2021, including IAVE’s ‘Leadership for Volunteering: the COVID-19 Experience; Forum’s COVID-19 and the Future of Volunteering for Development; and UNV’s State of the World’s Volunteerism Report 2022: Building Equal and Inclusive Societies. Showcasing the findings within these strategic reports and considering the issues they jointly highlight and what this means for the future of volunteering. IAVE is delivering this webinar in partnership with Forum (International Forum for Volunteering in Development); UNV (the United Nations Volunteers Programme) and VGA (Volunteer Groups Alliance); global organizations and networks with a focus on supporting and developing volunteering. Register here.

Wednesday, January 27 – Thursday, January 28

ASIST is a two-day, two-trainer, workshop designed for members of all caregiving groups. Family, friends, and other community members may be the first to talk with a person at risk, but have little or no training. ASIST can also provide those in formal helping roles with professional development to ensure that they are prepared to provide suicide first aid help as part of the care they provide.

During this workshop, participants will learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Register HERE. You must attend both days in order to complete the training.
