PCA Cobb Strategy Team Meeting

The PCA Cobb Strategy Team brings together leaders, stakeholders, and nonprofit organizations serving children and families in Cobb County. These bi-monthly meetings are an opportunity to collaborate on strategies that strengthen families, prevent child abuse and neglect, and create a collective impact on key community issues.

Meetings will alternate between in-person and virtual formats, offering flexibility while fostering meaningful connections and discussions. Together, we’ll align with Georgia’s Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Plan (CANPP) as a guiding framework to drive awareness, share best practices, and implement effective programs that support families in our community.

Our featured presenter will be Dr. Nicole Lawrence, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Healthy Haven Nutrition LLC. Dr. Lawrence holds a Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University and a Master of Public Health from Loma Linda University. With over 20 years in Nutrition and Dietetics, she is a Certified Health Education Specialist and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Dr. Lawrence is passionate about improving the nutritional health and well-being of foster families, foster youth, child welfare professional, and health professionals through education and coaching. Recognized for her proactive, solution-driven leadership, she is a respected voice in advancing holistic, equitable care for diverse populations.

During this presentation, we will discuss how trauma can impact a child’s nutritional well-being and why trauma-informed strategies are essential for fostering healthier, happier futures for foster children.
